Miami Apartment Complex Association Successfully Settles Insurance Dispute for $863,500

Hentschel x Lanza had the opportunity to represent the association of an apartment complex in Miami, Florida in a case against its insurance company. After receiving multiple complaints of water leaks from its tenants, the association presented a claim to its insurance company for compensation. The insurance company fully denied coverage for the claim arguing that the damage was attributed to wear and tear, an exclusion under the insurance policy. Hentschel x Lanza was retained and instantly filed a lawsuit against the insurance company and hired multiple experts to dispute the insurance company’s coverage determination. Following months of investigation, depositions, and motion practice, the parties were able to reach settlement in the amount of $863,500.00.
